2025 Photo Competition Terms and Conditions

Please read each section tab to ensure you enter the competition correctly and avoid any disqualifications.

1. General

1.1) Entrants into the Auckland Camera Centre Photo Competition 2025 shall be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions.

1.2) The Auckland Camera Centre Photo Competition 2025 is open to New Zealand residents aged 18 and older unless supervised by an adult or caregiver.

1.3) Entrants confirm that each individual whose image is featured in the Competition entry has given consent for the use of his/her image in connection with this Competition and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Where an individual whose image is featured in a Competition entry is aged less than 18 years the entrant confirms that the parent or guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent.

1.4) Entries open 12am 1st of September 2025 and close 11:59pm 30th of September 2025.

1.5) You own the copyright to your Competition entry as its author. Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use, must not include any trademarks, and must not show inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, or otherwise be obscene, defamatory, distasteful, offensive, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation, or in breach of any confidentiality obligations owed by you to third parties. If Auckland Camera Centre has reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions, then Auckland Camera Centre may not consider it and may disqualify it.

1.6) The Competition is open to all photographers (both amateur and professional).

1.7) Staff members of Auckland Camera Centre trading as NZ Photographic Supplies Ltd are NOT eligible to enter this competition.

2. Judging

2.1) Images will be judged by Selected Photographers specialising in each category field.

2.2) Each category will be individually judged by an assigned judge:

(a) ABSTRACT: Izabel van der Ploeg

(b) LANSCAPE: David Prentice

(c) OPEN: Erwin Xin

(d) PEOPLE: Justin Aitken

(e) WILDLIFE: Bryce McQuillan

2.3) The winning images will be announced approximately mid October 2025. The owners of the winning images will be notified by email or other means.

2.4) The Winning images will be displayed on both the Auckland Camera Centre facebook page and website once the winning images have been selected.

3. Category Limitations

3.1) Submitted images must relate to the selected category. Some examples of accepted images are:

(a) ABSTRACT: Colors, shapes, light used and portrayed artistically

(b) LANSCAPE: Seascape, cityscape, Scenery, astrolandscape

(c) OPEN: Architecture, automotive, aviation, food and sports, etc, Anything not covered under other category limitations

(d) PEOPLE: People in villages/cities/town located anywhere, General portraits, city life, culture

(e) WILDLIFE: Animal related photography such as birds, lions, insects etc, Dogs, cats, etc are also included in this category

If entries submitted are not suitable for the the Category entered Auckland Camera Centre has the right to move them into the category felt best suited to the image submitted

4. Prizes

4.1) Delivery of prizes will be organised through email contact once the winners have been announced.

4.2) Nikon 8×21 Aculon T02 Compact Binocular (Blue) facebook prize will be drawn at random from all Facebook page, Ad and post like/shares ONLY and are is not included as a prize for the main Photographic competition.

4.3) If prize winners fail to reply to communication once the competition has ended via email or other means within 14 days the prize will be passed onto a entrant for which a nominated judge of the winning entrants category selects.

4.4) Prizes are for redemption from Auckland Camera Centre only.

5. Submissions

5.1) By submitting images into this competition you agree and accept that images may be used for future purposes of promoting the competition on Auckland Camera Centre’s website or on Facebook.

5.2) Each image file must be no larger than 20MB.

5.3) Images must have not been previously entered into any Auckland Camera Centre Photography Competition.

5.4) Images must be named in the following format:

Correctly submit your image/images structured as below:

First letter of the category + Entrants first & last name + Picture name.

For example if entering the Abstract category and your name was John Smith with a picture named Beach Sunset the image file name would be..

AJohnSmithBeachSunset.jpg √√

Another example if entering the Wildlife category and your name was Sue Hick with a picture named Pink Flamingo the image file name would be..

WSueHickPinkFlamingo.jpg √√

5.5) Images submitted that are not correctly named or sized may be disqualified without notice.

5.6) Submitted images may be used for the future promotion of annual Auckland Camera Centre photo competitions.

5.7) Submitted images will be uploaded to Flicker or other image hosting websites for public viewing in relation to the photo competition and winning submissions will be put on display in our website.
