Surcharges for select payment options
Auckland Camera Centre charges a surcharge on some payment options offered to its customers. This is done to offset a portion of the costs charged to Auckland Camera Centre by the payment providers (e.g. Q-credit card or other finance companies) when a customer uses these payment methods.

How much is the surcharge?

Where a surcharge applies, a 2.5% Auckland Camera Centre fee will be applied. The exact amount of any surcharge is clearly displayed during the checkout process of this website so that customers are well aware of what they are purchasing. Auckland Camera Centre also offers multiple payment options that don’t attract a surcharge.

When I am directed to the Finance Provider Website, there is no mention of this 2.5% fee?

This is because, the 2.5% fee is solely an Auckland Camera Centre surcharge and the payment providers are only reflecting the total amount of requested finance payment by Auckland Camera Centre.

But why does Auckland Camera Centre charge a surcharge when some other companies do not?

We do this for one simple reason, to save our customers’ money. Rather than absorb this cost and increase our overall prices, we choose to keep our prices lower so those customers who pay via the multiple payment methods we offer that don’t attract fees can avoid the surcharge and enjoy lower prices when they shop.

How do I avoid paying surcharges?

You can either pay in-store using EFTPOS, Direct Online Banking, Cash or use an alternate finance options which do not have surcharges, such as:
– ZIP
– Afterpay
– Credit Capable Finance
– Q-card Finance (For 6 & 12 Months)
– GEM Visa (For 6 & 12 Months)
Your prices are very low compared to other stores, are your products parallel imported?
All of our cameras and lenses are sourced from official NZ distributors with New Zealand Manufacturing warranties, some accessory products we import such as lens caps and cleaning products.
Are your website prices the same as your showroom prices?
Yes.
Do you have finance options available?
We recommend Credit Capable Finance. If you wish to purchase an item(s) (minimum $500) please contact us or click HERE to apply online. For business owners or professionals we recommend FLEXIRENT. Customers can also use QCARD but only in-store and 2.5% will be added to the cost of the goods.
Do you sell film?
Yes, please check our consumables section for all the different types we sell. We stock a range of film, paper, chemistry and accessories for films.
Can you do Tax or Duty Free?
Do you take photographic equipment trade-ins?

Can you please leave my order in my post box or on my door step if I am not home?
Do your prices include GST?
Yes all our listed prices are GST inclusive.

Do you develop, process or print photos?
Not at the moment. We don’t do any development or printing service.
Do you offer international delivery for online orders?
Our shopping cart only allows for online orders to be ordered and shipped within New Zealand. If you are outside of New Zealand please email us to organise international orders.
I have some old photographic equipment or an older film camera I wish to get rid of, will you buy it?

Online Purchasing FAQs
I have set up a customer login and ordered product, how long does it take to verify my account?
As soon as you supply us with information we require to verify your account.
I am an existing customer and purchased products from you previously, why am I required to undergo verification?
If you have purchased from us before and your details are in our system, please reply to the verification email with either your customer code or an invoice number. If your details match, we will instantly verify you.
I purchased a memory card, filter, camera bag or accessory online but it is not suitable or I chose the wrong type, can I return it for the correct product or have my money back?
Yes, the product must still be in its original packaging and have tags attached etc.
Once I have set up my account and become verified do I need to repeat the verification process for every order?
No, the verification process only happens once when you create an account and place your first order. You will not be asked to do it again, unless we ask you for security reasons.
Why do I have to create a customer log-in and then verify it for online purchasing from the website?

Do you do repairs?
My digital SLR has spots over the images, I have been told this is because the sensor is dirty, can you clean this for me?
Yes, we offer a DSLR sensor cleaning service and sell products for you to do it yourself. If you want your camera’s sensor cleaned we charge from $65 including GST and the service has a 24 hour turn around. We also sell wet sensor cleaning kits from $49.
